Today we celebrate the man, the myth, the legend who does it all — the founder, the director, the fixer, the pastries supplier, the midnight car rescuer, the "ask-for-help-while-parking" enforcer, the heart and soul of SEEDS: Oscar! 

 

20 years ago, Oscar had a vision — to bring people from all over the world together in Iceland, to protect the environment, to connect through meaningful work, and to learn from one another. Since then, nearly 16,000 volunteers have lived their own little dream thanks to him. Through muddy hikes, polar winds, and an enormous number of cleanups, lives were changed. 

 

He has dedicated his life to SEEDS, and that’s not just a poetic line. When a volunteer car breaks down at night by the Black Sand Beach? Oscar shows up. When the office fridge is sad and empty? Oscar appears with Coco’s food, drinks, and enough pastries to start a bakery. When things get complicated — and they do — he's there, helping, fixing, leading, even when it’s not easy, even when 100 people are calling his name at once.
