Inspired by Iceland
Documentary screening of
13.05.2025
On the 8th of May, we experienced a touching moment in the heart of Reykjavík and in front of the Nature Reserve in Vatnsmyrin, thanks to a special collaboration between SEEDS and The Nordic House. We were honoured to present two short films that made us take reflective steps.

"The Last Observers" took us to a remote lighthouse in Sweden, where an extraordinary couple dedicated decades to observing the weather and marking birds with rings. Their story is a poetic farewell that, in turn, is a testimony to love.

"Puffling" on the other hand, brought us back to Iceland, where we followed the journey of two young women who, since they were children, have been patrolling the streets of the city, enveloped by the magic of childhood and the commitment to rescue young pufflings who get lost heading for the sea.

After the screening, we had an inspiring Q&A with the biologist and researcher Erpur Snær Hansen, and with the contributor of "Puffling", Birta Líf Agnarsdóttir, who shared her real-life and professional experience with the audience. The conversation was mediated by our volunteer and event coordinator who gave us an event with images that touched us deeply and words that raised awareness of birdlife conservation in Iceland and beyond.
