Today, we celebrate the remarkable journey of Sólheimar Verið Velkomin , Iceland’s oldest eco-village, which has been a beacon of sustainability and inclusivity since 1930. 
 
SEEDS is proud to be partners of this incredible community, contributing to its mission through our dedicated volunteers who help tirelessly on three main projects:
 
- Sunna - The Greenhouse: Our volunteers help the Sólheimar community to plant and maintain a variety of vegetables, providing fresh, organic produce that nourishes people across Iceland;
- Ölur - The Forestry: With a commitment to reforestation and environmental stewardship, our volunteers help planting and tending to trees that enhance the natural beauty and ecological health of the area;
- The Paths &Trails Project: We help build, maintain, and repair the hiking paths that allow everyone to explore and appreciate the stunning landscapes of Sólheimar.
 
To everyone at Sólheimar, thank you for being a source of inspiration and for fostering a community where everyone, regardless of their abilities, can thrive. We are happy to help this incredible project, founded by an incredible woman called Sesselja Sigmundsdóttir who is a beacon of inspiration. We can’t recommend enough that you check her story!
